The people's journalist
I'm Dawn Sawyer.
I have a passion for people -- for speaking to them, learning their stories, and sharing them in a way that reaches others facing similar challenges. For this reason, it has been my mission in every article to center each piece around a particular person. Before a policy is ever made, or a protest is ever organized, there is a person whose life is first affected. These are the people I interview and seek to reach with every story I am a part of. I have pursued this from a print, digital and broadcast perspective thus far, and I have loved each avenue for doing so. I am eager to see what the future holds for the way these stories are told and connected to an audience that is yet to realize that they are not alone in this chapter of their story.
